Madelyn Traczek, DO

Madelyn was born in the greater Chicago area (Darien, Illinois) but spent most of her life in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is a graduate of Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, Erie Campus.

Madelyn is open to all pathology subspecialties; her current favorites are forensics, breast and gynecologic pathology.

When not at Loyola, you can find Madelyn hanging out with her cute dog, Jojo, participating in long-distance running workouts (usually with her athletic dog!) and reading. She is an ardent fan of Chapell Roan and has converted many residents to become fans of the “Midwest princess”.  Her favorite TV show is Love Island.

Madelyn chose Loyola “due to the resident culture, as it seemed like everyone was super friendly and bounced off of one another during the resident interview session. I wanted a program where I would be not only coworkers but also good friends with my co-residents. The faculty also seemed very welcoming and supportive, and Loyola seemed like a place where I could feel comfortable to learn, while also being challenged to become a strong pathologist. I also liked that the program supports a healthy work-life balance. Finally, I really liked the Chicagoland location as I have a lot of family in the area, and I was looking to move out of Pittsburgh and explore what a larger city has to offer. So far, I have really enjoyed getting to know everyone in the department and have felt very well-supported in the learning process throughout the first month or so of residency, so I feel that I made a great choice in coming here!”
