Maitri Mehta, DO

Maitri is another one of our Chicagoland natives from Schaumburg, IL. She was introduced to Pathology during her undergraduate education when she studied Cytotechnology at Saint Louis University. She loved observing the unique patterns and morphologies of cells, and she carried her interest to medical school, where she studied at Kansas City University. Her current interests in pathology include surgical pathology, cytopathology, and Dermatopathology.

Outside of pathology, Maitri loves traveling and even exploring her home city of Chicago and everything it offers, including finding the best slice of pizza. She loves binge-watching the newest Netflix shows, but her favorite remains Gilmore Girls and Stranger Things.

 On why she chose Loyola: “As many have said before, it’s the people. The residents have a warm and positive energy that makes you excited to come in every day and learn not only from the amazing faculty we have but from each other as well.”
