Born and raised in West Michigan near Grand Rapids, Hunteris a graduate of American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine located in St. Maarten. His interests in pathology are rather diverse such as Forensics, Dermatopathology, Surgical Pathology, or Blood Bank. He is excited to see where residency will take him, and which field he will ultimately end up in!
His interests outside of work involve watching horror movies, EDM concerts, baking, spending time with family/nieces, wine tasting, taking care of his axolotls, attending sporting events, hanging out with friends, reading, and travelling (mainly Central and South America so far).
Why he picked Loyola: “Loyola was hands down one of my favorite interviews during my interview season. They made me feel like an individual during the process rather than just another number for them to interview. I took their PathElective course during my 4th year where I was able to interact more with the residents and attendings which further enhanced my fondness of the program. The program really focuses on making sure you know the fundamentals and build on your understanding while supporting you along the way. Outside of work, I knew I wanted to end up in a place like Chicago. It is a city filled with immense diversity of interests, culture, and opportunities. Chicago is a place where not only you can prosper personally but also professionally”
