Ayse Irem Kilic, MD

is a fourth year resident from Istanbul, Turkey to be with us at Loyola. She is a fellow graduate of Marmara University School of Medicine. Irem has interests in cytopathology and genitourinary pathology and is staying at Loyola for a cytopathology fellowship and competing GU pathology fellowship at Indiana University. She has been recognized with the Dr. Bernard Naylor Excellence in Cytomorphology Award, The American Society of Cytopathology Pathologists-in-training Award and by the USCAP Foundation.

When not performing all of her research, Irem enjoys baking and cooking, Latin dancing, and playing tennis and golf. Her favorite TV shows are Friends and Breaking Bad.

Irem chose Loyola because it is “a unique place where the warmth of the Midwest and enthusiasm of academics unites”. Her favorite thing about Loyola is “Mentorship. The department is very supportive and encouraging. We are one family here at Loyola as our chair, Dr. Wojcik says.”
