Joy hails from Houston, Texas, and has graduated from Baylor College of Medicine.
Joy is currently undecided on her future pathology fellowships (she remains “undifferentiated” if we use pathology terminology!), but she has enjoyed the transfusion medicine and gynecologic pathology rotations so far.
Her interests outside of work include playing the cello, reading, collecting comics, playing board and video games, and practicing Kendo (a type of modern Japanese martial art). She and her wife also enjoy spending time with their two lovely cats, Zhenya and Svetlana; their cat pictures have already been part of our Resident Room pet wall!
On why she chose Loyola: “I felt it was a program where I would be well supported in my academic and personal interests, and everyone I met during interviews seemed happy and passionate about their job.”
